Dear Yve.,
Well here it is fish day and the first day of the manuvers, [sic] and it [sic] hot. I didn’t get any mail yesterday or to day [sic] yet because the mail man hasn’t come yet. The capt. said he’d be in around ten o’clock to night [sic] but black out [sic] regulation says you can’t have any lights so I won’t be able to read it til morning. Well one thing to be thankful for we only got 29 more days in the field. Darling there’s some news but it wouldn’t intrest [sic] you very much but I’ll tell you just the same. Yesterday
[Page 2]
a half track turned over and killed three men and sent about eight to the hospital I didn’t know the guys though but I saw them. Well so much for that. darling do you know I love you more every day [sic] and I wish I could see you. Another thing darling I’m going to be writing shorter letters because I’ve very little time. Darling send me a big box of cookies and anything else you can find. I’ll let you send me a bill for all of it. I don’t think they’ll have a p.x. out here for a while and I can’t get in to [sic] town. So darling please buy some cookies [or] any thing [sic] and send it immediately. I love you darling. As always,
Howard
