Dear Yvette:
Well here I am at last. The weather has been fine, just like spring down here and I’ve been out in the feild [sic] since Tuesday morning. We were coming in Wed. night but they had a big grass fire and we spent all night fighting fire so here I am this is the first night I’ve had off and by the way 23:00 o’clock is 11:00 PM in army time. I got a letter from Janet you know New Years [sic] day at the club. Well I’m going to answer it as soon as I get a chance but to-night [sic] its kind of late
[page 2]
and maybe she wouldn’t be able to read it anyway. Well darling I on getting so I don’t know what to write about its [sic] just the same old thing over and over again. In the letter you send me you think that I’m always complaining but I’m not and darling if I sound that way [illegible deletion] don’t pay any attention to it. Its [sic] just because I miss you so much. Oh well darling maybe I’ll be a civilian some day [sic]. Darling I’m going to close now but I’ll write to morrow if I get back before saturday. Darling I love you even more that you love me and take care of yourself. I love you very much
Howard
