Hello darling,
Well I passed the inspection alright and now I [am] ready for the bivouac which will last for about a week. Darling the only reason I haven’t said anything about me being hungry and wanting you to send me anything is because I don’t want you to work all the time. I guess I’ll take him up on it because we very seldom get home cooked meal[s] down here. But darling I’d rather be eating a chicken dinner with you though but you can’t have the impossible. I hope this war ends by this summer but I doubt it very much. I love you so much and I want you. I got to go now if I’m going to eat. Good night for now darling and take care of your self [sic] darling. As Ever,

Howard
