Hello Darling,
Well here I am again and awful lonesome and I do mean it. I’m on C.Q. [sic] again and theres [sic] no one to talk to and no music on the radio except hill-billy [sic] stuff and you know how I like that. Well darling I got another letter from Bob Kister you know he’s the one thats [sic] in Sicily. Well he says its [sic] kind
[page 2]
of quiet over there just now few German planes and that he’s taking his basic training over again. He says they do that just to make them mad. He never did like this training but he wanted to fight. Bob volunteered for over seas [sic] last June [illegible deletion] right after he got the letter that his brother was killed in Africa and they shipped him and he says in his letter that I [Bob] came here to fight not
[page 3]
to take training over again. Darling you know I still love you and want to marry you as soon as possible but it don’t look like Christmas from the way things stand now an order came out this morning that we’ve got a twenty eight week training period that starts the beginning of next month and no one [sic] will get furlough during that time so I think I was lucky to get one when i did. Darling I’m not saying
[page 4]
I won’t get one but you never can tell. I wish I know. I planed to go home and get married because I think I’ve waited long enough, don’t you darling? Well darling [sic] I got to go now but always remember that I love you more + more every day [sic] and until we get married and have a home of our own I remain your own little boyfriend. I love you
