Hi Darling:
I got the last letter you wrote and I wrote yesterday that I was sorry but I suppose you don’t believe me. You know that nobody is or ever can take your place. I love you. I’ll be man enough to tell you. I feel lonesome around here to-day [sic]. Sandy just left to go home on furlough for eight days. He never did get a furlough since he’s been in the army. I didn’t get mine yet
[Page 2]
and I didn’t get my store teeth yet. I don’t know just when I’ll get them. I guess you have to have a ration card to get teeth nowadays. What do you think? You know I’d love to come home for Thanksgiving but that [illegible deletion] can’t be. I might get one in [D]ecember but don’t plan on it to [sic] much. I thought I was going to get mine starting to-day [sic] but what did I get you guess. [illegible deletion] There is one thing about the army though. [Y]ou don’t have any meatless days even Friday we have fish. Well [D]arling the Company Commander asked
[Page 3]
me if I was going to bring my girl up to camp for a turkey dinner. I said yes but I would have to have a furlough to go and get her. Gee I’m getting to like the army less every day. Well [D]arling I’m going to go to the dentist and see if I can get some teeth pretty soon. I’m going to tell him I need them for a furlough, but I [will] even go home with out [sic] getting them though. Love you [D]arling. Lots of Love
Howard
