Hi Darling:
I’m glad that Louise came out alright, but I think of what’s going to happen when she finds out that Steve wasn’t as lucky as she was. I’ll tell you this that I would hate to be the one that has to tell her. You know I dreamed last night about the fire and I could just picture all the people. Well [D]arling I [am] going to be moved to Tenn. pretty soon. I don’t know where I will go from there, but I don’t think I will leave there
[Page 2]
there [sic] for quite some time. [T]there [is] only one thing I won’t be made Sgt. for quite a while now. I [am] just wondering when I’m going to get my furlough. Well they changed it all around down here again, so I haven’t much time to write just now. I got a letter from my brother and he thinks he can come home for [C]hristmas. [S]o does Bill. I sure hope I make it. Well [D]arling I guess I close now so don’t forget to write. Love
Howard
