Hi [D]arling:
How’s everything been going since I left? Gee you don’t know how lonesome I am since I left. I felt so empty inside. I didn’t know what you would call it but I just couldn’t eat at all. I never thought love could do that to me. I love you so much that I don’t think I can wait over. I get back to camp about 7 o’clock last night and they all asked me if I got married and I said no. [T]hey all say thought I would be cause [sic] they say if a girl will write to one guy every day for eight or nine months its [sic] got to be love.
[Page 2]
I had to have a [illegible deletion] spot check on clothes and go to the dentist the first thing this morning and I didn’t work too hard to-day [sic]. Gee [D]arling I was so, I mean I had such a funny feeling. I couldn’t sleep until Tuesday night. [S]ee what you do to me [D]arling? Well [D]arling I have to close now [D]arling because I got to send a few lines to my pop. [H]e wants me to write to him as soon as I can. I [will] write again to-morrow [sic] when I have a little more time. I love you [D]arling and wait for me will you? Your loving husband
Howard
P.S. Don’t forget to write Mrs. Howard Sarty. Don’t mind me I just love you.
