Hello Darling
I love you more than ever to-night [sic]. I got that [C]hristmas card you sent and every body [sic] had to see it and they all thought gee she must love you a lot to send you a card like that. Well to-day [sic] was a very busy day, and it was cold too. Do you know they got a gas rationing system and it’s driving me nuts. I can’t get you a [C]hristmas card so I’m going to wish you a merry [C]hristmas in this letter (Merry Christmas Darling). Goo I met a new fellow in this army

[Page 2]

and he’s more my type. I get along pretty good with him. He lives in Mew New York. He’s going to Camp Cambel [sic] with me so I have one buddy. I know for shure [sic] now that I won’t go to Camp Poke La. [sic] I’m saving my pennies now. I got [sic] about 20 now so maybe by the time the war is over I might be able to get married and settle down. There’s a guy down here that got 67 cards and three packages and 6 letters to day [sic] in the mail. Well [D]arling I’ll always love you and I wish I was home with you for the Holidays. I love you [D]arling as ever
