Darling:
I got a letter from you yesterday and in it you said you saw those pictures that we took while I was home. I wish I could see them. So you stay at the house now but don’t go telling them anything you don’t tell me. I know they like you a lot and they always will so don’t go and think they don’t. What do you think I am a [F]rench man or something but I know enough to understand

[Page 2]

what you wrote [D]arling. Well [D]arling I’m supposed to get paid next week so I’ll send you a money order check ok or do you want my personal check? I think you ought to take the first one don’t you? I got a letter from my mother and I think she likes you more than you think she does at least she write[s] me about you so you better be a good girl or you’ll get found out. I love you [D]arling and when this war is over I never let you get out of sight. I love you. Lots of love
