Dearest darling wife,
How are you tonight?. [sic] Personally I feel pretty good because I was informed a little while ago that I was to leave on furlough this weekend. Of course they can always change their mind but if they do they are likely to find me missing Monday morning when they call the role. Well darling I feel so good to night [sic] I could walk all the way
[Page 2]
home if they told me to leave tonight. And when I get there I’d take you in my arms and listen to your back crack, I’m mean aren’t I? but thats the way I feel. I had all my clothes checked today and then hard to go and have the medic’s check me. They tell me I’m still I-A. Darling love. Jack is leaving with me on furlough or he is leaving the same time as we go different ways. Ray is home now having a good time
[Page 3]
I hope. Darling I’ll send a telegram to let you know when I’ll be home. If I leave sat. noon I’ll be home around midnight Sunday so I’ll let you know. Darling I feel like eating you up tonight but I guess I can wait a few more days. I love you so much darling that it ain’t funny. I love you darling [illegible crossed out word] I’m so glad the [sic] I married you. Your loving husband
