Hello dear,
Well here I am sitting up in bed to-day [sic]. Well how are you to-day [sic]? I just had a good chicken dinner to-day [sic]. Well first I [will] tell you what kind of weather we have down here. They call it the sunny south, but I haven’t seen the sun since I came down here maybe it’s because I’ve been in [the] hospital ever since I got here. Yes it seems ages since I got down here when
[Page 2]
when you stay in bed all day. My buddy in the next bed has his radio and I’m next to the wall so he’s got to put it in [illegible deletion] right by my bunch so I put it on anything I want to. [I]f it wasn’t for the radio I would sure go nuts. The nurses and doc’s. [sic] sure treat you nice but they aren’t so good looking and there [sic] all old. Darling I don’t even know where I love. I got down here in Campbell and they took me to the hospital and I did not have time to find
[Page 3]
out what barracks I lived in. Well [H]on I think I [will] write a letter to my mom to day [sic] and tell her the news. I miss you [D]arling and I hope I’ll be able to be home soon. I love you [D]arling. Love
Howard
P.S. Write
another P.S. They haven’t been sending my mail over here so I can’t tell weather [sic] your [sic] writing or not. I love you.
