Hello [D]arling
Well here I am back to work and I fell tired to night [sic]. I got a big bunch of mail from you to-day [sic], and I love you very much. I’ll keep the date with you for next New Years and we both can get drunk. [A]in’t [sic] I awful though?
[Page 2]
Well I can’t take any pictures of the place but I’ll tell you what I allready [sic] found out. The post office in [is] in [sic] Kentucky while the camp is in town. [I]f you can figure that one out your [sic] better than I am. I got a twenty dollar bill all fixed up but I can’t get to the post office until the next end
[Page 3]
of the week. The reason my brother Bill has saved so much is that he hasn’t been home on furlough but just wait intil [sic] he does. [H]e will be hunting all over for money. Well back at the barracks we got double deckers bunks [drawing of a double decker bunk] I sleep up where the dot is and its [sic] quite
[Page 4]
a ways to the floor. Well [H]oney I got to go and see the top-kick and get my stuff straighten[ed] out if you know what I mean. I love you [D]arling and I sure miss you, so the next time I go home you’ll have to quit work understand? I’m giving orders all ready. Love
Howard
