Dearest darling Wife,
Well here I am again and I love you still more to-day was my first day at driving and I didn’t work very hard because I just didn’t feel in the mood, and another thing don’t get mad at me when I tell you I had a chance to make Sgt. to day [sic] but I refused it. You know there was a catch to it. If I took it it may affect a discharge and I told them I could go on being a cpl for another two months. You see today Louise is our company Command
[Page 2]
now and he’s the one that asked me. He didn’t blame me for not taking it when I refused because he wants to get out to [sic]. Ed Kashube got his discharge to day [sic] and is on his way home. He’s the guy that took that picture of me while I was sleeping you know the one you had enlarged, well that’s the one who got a discharge. Gee darling I miss you so darn much that I just don’t know what to do. I wish I was home so much and I don’t want to see no more of California and that’s that. Well darling I got to stop now so I can drag a few lines home so until tomorrow I love you. As Ever.
