Dearest Yve,
Well darling since I left you this morning I’ve been the most lonesome gues in the army I guess. I made it back to the city on the street car alright but when I got to the bus station I had a long line to sweat out. I saw a couple of good buddies in line so I just went over and kind of lost myself between them so I made it alright. I hated to leave you like I did but I couldn’t help it. You know how it is. I hope you made

out o.k., Well anyway darling I got back and I found out i could have another pass for all day to day [sic] but it was kind of late to do anything about it. I really couldn’t of made it home on account of line connection. They should of let me have it last night and I’d probably be home now instead of writing this mixed up letter. You know darling I’m really tired to night [sic] so I guess I’ll close for to-night. I love you very much darling and always will. As Ever

Howard
