Dear Yvette
I haven’t used the word [D]ear for a long time have I [D]arling? I love you and I hope you haven’t changed your mind about me. Gee it [is] cold down here all of a sudden. [Y]esterday it sure was hot and to-day [sic] it started to snow. I went to the show to-day [sic] and it was pretty good. [T]he name was Andy Hardy’s Double Life. It really is funny. Well so much for that. How are you to-day [sic]? I sure wish I could go home again an[d] see you. [I]t seems so long since I’ve seen you and I’m lonesome. Gee everybody down here has gone nuts. They are

really raising the devil. [W]e got [sic] two guys dancing together then an other [sic] doing a tap dance. [W]e got [sic] six radios playing in this barracks and here I am trying to write a letter, Flash: there’s one guy down one end of the barracks with a map and a guy on this end with a broom and they [are] playing golf with a tin can. Flash: they started dancing dancin again. Well [D]arling I can’t write with all this going on. [D]o you see that ink all over the top of the paper? Well they pulled me off my bunk. Well [D]arling good night for now. Lots of love
Howard
P.S. French & Dutch what a combination but it will work out ok ok. I love you.
