Military Life

He begins by saying that he didn't receive a letter from her today so he felt lonely. Today is a boring day for him since there is nothing to do for him. He will be going to a party with some friends but he doesn't seem thrilled about going.

Camp Campbell, Ky.

April 18, 1944


Dearest Halfpint,

I didn’t get any letter from you to day [sic] and I’m so lonely and I love you so much and oh well a lot of and’s [sic] anyway. Well to day [sic] was just one of those regular days where you don’t do much of anything but you keep awful busy when you see somebody important walking around. Most of the company we’re [sic] out on the range but I stayed in on account of I had to drive a truck for

the laundry. It was a beautiful day to-day [sic] to[o] and it made me think of those days we used to be out to camp. It was really hot because I was out in the sun without any shirt on trying to get a tan, see I’m still trying to be a civillian [sic]. To morrow [sic] night the company is giving a party which will be made up of beer and fried chicken and I guess I’m going. I’ll let you know how it was. Darling I wish I could see you now. I love you and want you so much that I don’t know what to do but I know one thing that I really love you. Love
