Hello darling,

Well we had a nice beer party, not too much beer but the fried chicken was good. I started out this morning to get some beer for the party. I guess we cleaned out all the stores in town. I couldn’t stay until the party was over because I have to drive for reserve command to-morrow [sic] at four thirty and if I stayed I’d probably wake up with a big head or something so I came back and I just had to drop you a few lines before going to bed. Gee darling when is this darn war

[Page 2]

going to end anyway? I[‘m] getting so sick of being down here in Kentucky. I’m glad you sent me that picture but every body [sic] wants to know if its [sic] my little gal and I have to tell them the truth and say no but they don’t beleive [sic] me so let them think what they like. I love you darling and I really got to go now because its [sic] past my bed time. Good night darling and until tomorrow. I love you. As Ever
