Darling Yve,
Here I am down south in the hills and don't like it because it is so hot. We left Devons at five o’clock [F]riday and arrived 10 o’clock [S]unday and what a trip. I was hoping I would be able to get home to see you before I left for the south, but I couldn’t, after we were told that [F]riday morning we couldn’t leave the barracks if we could have I would have called you up. I don’t think I am going to see you for quite a while
[Page 2]
although I would like to I got 13 weeks of training before I can get a leave. I couldn’t get in the [A]ir [F]orce at all. They say enlisted men get their pick but don’t believe it.
