Darling Yve,
Here I am as tired as can be. I want you to write me at the address on this envelope, how is everything back home[?] I just came back from a 10 mile hike and don’t feel like going anywhere. I got a fine bunch of fellows down he[re] but they don't feel like doing much either, as I said before I won’t be able to get a leave until the last of [A]ugust although I[‘d] like to get home for your birthday. The weather is damn hot down here. Over.
[Page 2]
Do you still miss me darling as much as I miss you[?] I love you more than you know. Tell me what you have been doing up till now. [illeligible deletion] I haven’t done [sic] nothing but drill and hike since I[‘ve] been down here and when you aren’t doing that we attend [illeligible deletion] shows on the thing[s] we shouldn’t do. I still love you and I haven’t forgotten about the ring at [C]hristmas. But. There is something said about us leaving after a while they will send us up to Pine [C]amp N.Y.. Well thats al for about all for to-day [sic] I still love you. Your
