Dear Mummy,
You wouldn’t listen to me when I told you you wouldn’t be one but you had to wait and find out for yourself. Well darling I got up early this morning and went out to the range and didn’t get back until quite late to night [sic] but I missed you so much to-day [sic] that it just don’t [sic] seem right that we got [sic] to be apart like this. gee [sic] darling I hope this war is over pretty soon so we

can be together again. About the pictures darling anything you say will be O.K. with me because I love you and your [sic] the boss. Wait only till I get back home and then you can be half boss. Darling I’m going to bed now so I’ll be able to get up in the morning. I love you so very much mummy that if I ever get home I’ll never leave you again. All my love,
Howard
