Darling:

Well darling I’m going to see the chaplain to morrow [sic] after noon [sic]. I won’t be able to see him to-day [sic] because I can’t get off until seven thirty to-night [sic] but darling I’ll let you know all the answers (I hope). You’ll wonder how I’m in town when I’m working well I had to drive in on company [illegible deletion] duty and I though[t] it would be a good

[Page 2]

time to write you. I you marry me darling you don’t know what your [sic] getting. I have nothing to offer you but love and thats [sic] all. I love you darling so much that I couldn’t write last night. I guess I read that letter over about fifty times and then I went to bed. I had the funniest feeling I couldn’t sleep at all. Darling if we get married you won’t be able to come down here, so it’s going to be awful. I hope that

I don’t make you unhappy or hurt your feelings but down here is no place for you and besides you can’t find a place to live. Gee darling I want you so much that I can’t sleep nights any more. I love you with all my heart and I’ll write right after I see the chaplain to morrow [sic]. I love you so very much

Howard
