Hi Shorty

Darling I still love you even if you are a tiny thing. I went for my first instruction to-night [sic] and we had a nice long talk. He told me that before I go on furlough he was going to give me a letter stating that I had the instructions. Now all I got to do is to make the first sergeant set a date about the middle of June for my furlough. [B]y the way I got to go twice next week so far

Gee darling I love you so darn much I don’t know if I can wait. Darling even the chaplain asked about you. He asked me if it was a rush up afair [sic] and I told him how long we were going together and he said (its [sic] about time). Well darling I’m going to say good night now but there[‘s] one more thing I’m scared about and its [sic] your Pop. Oh well. I[‘m] [?] getting pretty brave now. I love you and want you. As Ever

Howard
