Darling Yve
I got your box of stuff. I don’t know how to spell what it is so I called it stuff. No hard feelings huh! I ate them all befroe I went to bed [S]aturday. Al Mortenson said they were the best he ever tasted and I think so too. I just got a letter telling that you were going to send me some brownies. I was just wondering when you were going

to say that, because you know I like them the best. I am warning you right now that when you are my wife you will be [sic] make them all the time. You know what it rains every day down [here]. [T]his morn. it rained so hard the water went over my shoes while I was walking back from the P.X. [In parentheses “Post Exchange”] to after getting some shoe polish. You will never have to worry about getting your shoes dirty because I get more practice than shining shoes than anything

else. I got 3 pairs and I polish them 2 times a day. You should see me now I am laying on the bunk in a pair of shorts and suffering with a sunburn while I’m writing this letter. [S]aturday afternoon the[y] had us all out working pick and shovel. You know darling I hate the army more + more every day. I am getting so I don’t think I will be able won’t know how to act when I get back to civ. life. [W]hen I went to Louisville I got up in the morning at 5:30 and started to excercise.

Well darling I hope you love me as much as I love you and I love you a whole lot more than you think. Well darling I hope that I’ll see you soon and an other [sic] thing for the fourth they are going to give so many 3 days pass for and I thought if I could get one I would go an see you for a bout [sic] 6 hr. it will take me 30 hours each way but maybe I wouldn’t be able to get one. I love you and that all I got time to say except I hope your cold gets better darling. Loads of love
