Hello darling,
I’m sorry if I offended you by writing and telling my sister Betty that I would probably get my furlough around the tenth of June, but darling when I told her that I didn’t know and I would of [sic] told you but I didn’t want to have you build up false hopes and then not come but the minute I found out I wrote to you and darling of course I love you if I didn’t I would tell you and I’m

never going to. I went for another instruction to night [sic] (the third this week) and I[‘m] going to see the captain to morrow [sic] to see if I can get time off tomorrow to go to the hospital to have a blood test. I’m telling you darling I’ve been kept so darn busy lately that I hardly find time to think and as for a wanting to marry you I do honest. I wrote and told my mother I was going to be married and as yet she hasn’t answered but it won’t change me. I love you and I always will that[‘s] what I’m marring [sic] you for. Love
Howard
