Dearest darling wife,
I don’t just know how to start this letter so here goes. To day [sic] we’ve been married 11 months and its [sic] also mothers day [sic]. Gee darling I wish I was back 11 months ago so I could do it all over again. Darling you worry too much about me. If you beleive [sic] everything you read in the paper I’d be a hero but I don’t do anything hardly. Its [sic] just like a big vacation only trouble is your [sic] not here with me. I wish you were darling then everything would be wonderful. You know I don’t want a long vacation when I get back but if you insist I’ll take one.
[Page 2]
I’m afraid it will be quite a while be fore [sic] I’ll be back so I can take a vacation. Gee darling I miss you so darn much I’ll go nuts if I don’t get out of this army soon. There isn’t much news here. Tell you mom I was thinking of here [sic] and would like to be home for next mothers day [sic]. I love you very much my darling and I hope to see you soon. I miss you so much. As Ever,
Howard

P.S. You make fun of my pajamas all you want I’ll get some new one [sic] when I get home. Darling I love you.
