Hi Kid,
Well how’s everything with you back home? Are you still keeping the home fires burning? Well we finally arrived at Fort Harrison and its [sic] very nice here except they put us in with a bunch of rookies that still have their civilian clothes on but that doesn’t matter. Gee I’d like to get stationed here then you’d be able to come down and live in Indianapolis and it's only a ten cent bus
[Page 2]
ride to camp. Gee darling I forgot to tell you last night that when we stayed at camp Breckinridge last night we slept next barracks [sic] to the nigger wac’s [WAC Women’s Army Corps] how do you like that? And there [sic] some nice looking one’s [sic] too. Well darling I went to town this evening and saw a show and then came back to camp and I’m here now at the service club writing you a letter. It seems so darn lonely not to get a letter from you every day though
[Page 3]
but, I’ll get them when I get back to campbell [sic] I hope. Gee darling I love you so much that when I’m away you seem right here with me. I got to go to bed now because we start back to camp early in the morning and I don’t know just how many days they are going to allow us so good night [sic] for now darling and remember I’ll always love you. As ever,
Howard
