Monday.
Dearest Yve.,
The days are going very lonely and I can’t wait until that day comes when I’m a free man again. It look [sic] now that your father may be right about me not being home for christmas but I still have hope anyway. They seem to think so out here. If I’m not there for christmas it will be shortly after. You can’t be sure of anything in the army until it really happens and then maybe its [sic] not true. I love you my sweet beautiful little darling and I want you so very very much. If you could only know how hard it is for
[Page 2]
me to swet [sic[ out this discharge so I can be with you, but you can’t know. Nobody will ever know. Darling Hows [sic] my little what you call a princes [sic]? I love you so very much I want to be with you always. I get so lonely without you darling and the only part I like out here is that I always dream about you and Yve. they are some dreams. The trouble is mornings come too soon. There’s only one thing I can say. They made the days to [sic] long and the nights too short. Well Yve. I don’t have any new news so I guess I’ll have to quit writing for to night [sic] but I wish I was home so I could just hold you and maybe steal a kiss once in a while. I love you like every thing. As Ever.
Howard
