Dear Yvette,
I got a letter last night and you still think I’m in the great land of England but I’m not I’m still in the little town of Laufen in the southern part of Germany. I don’t know just how long we’ll be here but I hope it is’nt [sic] long. I’ve had just about all Germany I want but of course I [sic] rather be here than Japan but home would be the best place for me. I’m just a home man at heart at least I
[Page 2]
think so anyway. I guess I get homesick too much. Well so much for home sickness [sic]. Gee darling I miss you so darn much and there’s nothing I can do about it. Its [sic] a good thing I get letters from you [once?] in a while or I go nuts. I can’t write very much because I got to go on guard. I go on guard most of the time and the Rest [sic] of the time I sleep. I love you so darn much darling and I need you so darn much. I got to go now darling so I close but I do love you my little shoe polish wife. As Ever,
Howard
