Dearest Yve.,
Well another day gone by and it gets worse all the time. I got your telegram and I want you to come so bad but it [sic] no use I can’t find a place anywhere. Its [sic] really terrible out here. People around here are even living in [garages?] and thats [sic] no lie. I’m going to try again to get a furlough about the fifteen [sic] of oct. [sic] but all I can do is hope. I don’t know when pay day will come but I hope it’s before a furlough. Gee darling I was kind of home
[Page 2]
sick for the last couple of days and gee I want to see you. I love you so very much. The weather out here is funny at night you freeze and in the day time you could go swimming. Gee darling I love you love you so very very much and I want you, it would’nt [sic] be so bad if I was near home so I could see you once in a while. Well seeing I have’nt [sic] had a letter from you it [sic] hard to write but I hope to heare [sic] from you soon. All my love,
Howard
