Hello Darling:
No I haven’t changed my mind about marrying you on the next furlough and if I did I would of told you and another thing I’m not shipping oversea’s [sic] for a little while yet unless something comes up I not know nothing about. That ought to clear up a lot of question for you huh darling? What makes you doubt me like that? You know I want to marry

[page 2]

They cut the limit of passes now, instead of three days all you can get is two and what good are they, they don’t give any out. Theres [sic] a good show playing down here the name is The Man from down under [sic] with Charles Laughton

Well darling I guess I’ll have to close the same old excuse [illegible deletion] it is getting late and first call to morrow [sic] is 05:00 o’clock centeral [sic] war time and don’t forget I love you and if you doubt me again remember that I’ve got a big hand and it hurts when used in the right place. Well take care of
