Darling Yve
This is me again and I don’t feel so hot. I just came back from the dentist and I had five teeth pulled. I’m gold bricking to-day [sic] that’s the term we use down here when a guy like me don’t feel like working. Well darling I hope the war is over pretty soon. I got a letter from Grube, my buddy that I used to go around with and his [sic] across the pond. [A]m I glad I was’nt [sic] sent then. Right now I’m waiting to use the typewriter so I can type some drivers cards form the boys in the company. [illegible deletion] Think of me doing that kind of work. We have’nt [sic] been doing much down here lately because there nobody

around. I hope I can get home Xmas but things might change I hope not though. I went around the City of Louisville with the motor Sgt. yesterday to find a room for his wife to stay in while ship in town. Well darling that[‘s] all I can write for now. I’ll feel better later on I write you an other [sic] letter. I love you darling and I’m praying for the day that we when we’ll be to-gether [sic] again. I love you. Love
