Howard laments that the mail came in but there was nothing from Yvette. He mentions that living conditions where he is are decent. He asks about the wellbeing a lot of people at home.

Dearest Yve.,
Well darling here it is ten months of married life and most of it in the army. The mail just came in and still no letters or packages from you yet. They’ll probably catch up in time but these long waiting periods are too long. Its [sic] seems a long time since I’ve heard from you but it [sic] only about a week and you wait longer than that some time [sic] so I shouldn’t complain. Well darling I haven’t been doing much of anything lately except eat and sleep but thats [sic] not saying thats [sic] all I’m going to do. The living conditions that we have here are good so far as they go. Darling how’s every thing [sic] at home? Has norman [sic] been shipped
[Page 2]
over seas [sic] yet? You probably have told y me but I forgot or something. How is Mom & Pop Langlais and of course June & Paul. You did write me something about him being a ladies man at the school but give a little detail (June I mean). Well darling I guess that [sic] enough question [sic] for now. I wish I could go home right now for a lot of reasons but it [sic] impossible. The cigarette shortage for me is bad because you know how I smoke. Well darling I got to close because I got to go on guard I love you so very very much and I wish I could be home with you. I love you. Love,
Howard
