Hello darling,
Well blue Tuesday and no letter to day [sic] but I know why so I don’t feel so bad. We had some pretty good news to day [sic] but it didn’t last long. I mean about the war with germany. Oh well I guess the germans will fold up pretty soon I hope so any way [sic] and as for me that won’t be soon enough. Well to day [sic] was the second day of the bivouac and it was nice but it looks like rain to night. [sic] I didn’t do very much except sleep to-day [sic] you know me all I have to
[Page 2]
do is lie down and close my eyes and I’m asleep. Darling do you know I think your [sic] the best wife a fellow could have and I miss you so darn much. I should [have] never let you go back home. I miss you all the time it was different before we got married then I just missed you when I wasn’t so busy but now I think of you all the time and every place I go which is mostly in the field. I hope I get that furlough soon. I know its [sic] only been sixteen days since I’ve seen you but it seems so darn long. Well darling nothing new so I’ll close now. I love you and darling pray for this war to end soon. I love you. As ever,
Howard
