Hello Darling:
How’s everything back in dear old Southbridge? Gee I’m in the old town so much I guess I’m getting home sick [sic]. Darling guess what? I have a whole day off and so I went to church in the morning went to the show in the afternoon and saw His brothers [sic] sister [sic] and when I came back the whole gang wanted me to go roller skating with them so I went.
[page 2]
I don’t skate so good but I had a lot of fun. I didn’t write friday because we went on bivouac and it lasted until 12:00 o’clock saturday [sic] that why I didn’t write saturday [sic] either and today I didn’t write until just now because I took advantage of the day off. I knew if I stayed around and started writing they would find something for me to do and you know me. Put off til [sic] to morrow [sic]
[page 3]
what you can do to day [sic]. I’m only like that when I got a day coming through. Well how’s my little better half to-night [sic]? Do you still love me as much as ever. I love you so much that I can’t have a good time with out [sic] you so this war better end pretty soon. Darling I going to close now but remember I love you more than anything in the world. Love
Howard
