Dear Yvette:
Well how are you these fine winter evenings? Is it as cold up there as it is down here? Darling I haven’t written for the last few days because I’ve been out on bivouac and am going back out to morrow [sic] and not because I like it. Its [sic] been so col cold lately that whe we would go and get our chow before we could eat it it would be frozen by the way did you ever eat frozen mashed potatoes or frozen meat. Well darling a lot of the boys down here got colds and I hope I don’t get one my self [sic]. I haven’t had one so far

and don’t intend to have one. Darling I miss you so darn much that if I don’t see you soon I’ll go nuts. I might be able to talk the C.O. out of a few days abound new years [sic] anyway darling and until I write again I love you and won’t for me any way [sic] darling. The got to let me go home on furlough pretty soon. I love you darling so very very very much. As Ever
