Hello darling,
Well do you want to hear some news that is news? Well here goes. [sic] You know Jim White and the redhead, well when Jim went home on furlough he got a divorce from his wife and married the redhead. first letter from you today and it made me feel a lot better. I knew you wouldn’t go after I got on the train but I guess it was all right. Jack Hamline hasn’t come back from his furlough yet but I’ll probably see him Sat. Well to day[sic] I went out and fired a shoot your buddy course that’s where you fire at a target and you get a buddy running out in front of you and making sure you don’t hit your buddy.

Well we didn’t hit any body [sic] so I guess we’re o.k. Well kid I guess I’ll go drown my troubles in the movies. Pay says their [sic] is a good picture and to keep out of details I going. [sic] You don’t mind do you darling. Well darling I still love you and I guess you’ll never know how much. I’ve never loved or missed anybody so much in my life as I do you and I don’t think I ever will. I love you. I love you. I love you. As Ever
