Dearest darling wife and no kid,
Did you think I forgot all about you? Well I didn’t in fact I just got back from Crane, Indiana. It was a pretty good trip but tiresome. I’ll start in the beginning. We left camp wednesday [sic] morning and got there at two thirty thursday [sic] morning. Well we slept with the navy that night and got up and had breakfast with the civilian and then they loaded the trucks with the five hundred pound bombs and then we had dinner with the navy. In the afternoon we had to gas up the trucks and we was off [sic] until this morning at five. Well at five o’clock in the afternoon the marines came and asked us to eat supper with

them so we did and they put us in marine barracks that night. This morning we had chow again with the marines which was very good. I would of [sic] written last night but they didn’t have any writing paper and at the rec hall they had a big basketball game between the navy and the marines which was good, I did a little of everything pool, ping pong and bowling then listen [sic] to the radio and went to bed. And now I’m back in the day room feeling lonelier than ever I got to go out to the airport to deliver the bombs to-morrow but that [sic] just a couple of miles. So in the last two days I’ve seen all the branches of service even the coast guard they were up there to [sic]. Well darling getting back to how much I miss you
[Page 3]
I’m getting so I’ll go nuts if I don’t see you soon. I miss you so much more and of course I haven’t got any mail for the last two days and tonight when I got here the mail man was gone to town but you probably won’t be getting any either so I’ll be the same. Darling I love you. I love you. I love you so much that if I don’t see you soon I’m going to go home anyway. I’m only kidding. I’m waiting to hear from you about you coming down. Your [sic] the only present I want for christmas [sic] but I want you all the time. I can’t say how much I love you but you must know now. I’m going to catch a little shut eye now but remember darling I love you oh so very much. your loving husband
