Hello beautiful woman,
Gee I love you more than ever. I can hardly go to sleep anymore. I just had to get up and post my guard relief so thats [sic] why I’m writing and thats [sic] not all it’s because I’m so darn lonely. If I was home now I would just turn over and kiss you again and go back to sleep but here there’s nobody like you and even if there was I don’t want anybody but you. Honest darling I love you so darn much that it just won’t work being so far away from you.

[Page 2]

Well darling I just don’t know what to write except I love you I love you I you I love you more and it’s getting so I can’t sleep. I’ll say good night for now so don’t think I’m foolish for getting up in the middle of the night. I know its [sic] old but I just love you. As Ever.

Howard

[The following was written as a postscript]

P.S. I love you with all your fixings and I bet you look good even at this time of day darling.
