Dearest darling wife + no kids,
Well its [sic] just me again and I got a sore arm. I got the needle again to-day and it made it a little stiff. I didn’t do much to-day darling so there’s nothing to write about. [illegible deletion] Gee darling I wish you were here in hap-town [sic] like you were here christmas [sic]. I’m so darn lonely these nights and in the daytime to [sic] but more at night.
[Page 2]
what would be better still is to get a discharge from this darn army. I love you so very very much darling. I love every little thing about you, in other words I guess I’m just in love. Darling I went and sewed on my stripes on all my shirts and work clothes to-night only because an order came out that we had to have them on by tomorrow morning. You know me darling I would never do it if I didn’t really have
[Page 3]
to. You know darling I guess you married the laziest man in the army. I guess you wanted to be different well you didn’t get much of a prize but I wouldn’t want it any other way. I love you so much and I’m so glad that I married you. I got to go now but will [sic] try to do something to-morrow so I’ll be able to write so until then goodnight darling. I love you so very much. Love
Howard
