Wed. Night.
Dear Yve,
Well how are you? I haven’t heard from you lately but I guess the mail doesn’t come through so good. Nothing has happened lately that news except we got payed in french money an [sic] you got to figure it out to see if they pay [sic] you enough. I’ve got some extra money but I’m waiting to see if I can start the soldier savings and put it there but if I can’t I [sic] send it to you. If I start this soldier savings it’ll be simple to deposit and the interest is good and I get it if I ever get out of the army which I hope I will be with in [sic] the next two

years. Well after all our taking off all our patches we had to sew them on again. Darling send me another box of that fudge? The last was very good and all the rest of the boys enjoyed it too even mall. Well I’d guess I don’t know anymore to write so I guess [sic] take my nightly run and get to bed. So until tomorrow I love you and I hope I hear from you again tomorrow. Take care of your self [sic] darling and keep the hope fire burning. Lots of love

Howard
