Dear Yvette,

Well how’s everything to night [sic]? I’m getting over those blues but I still miss you. To day [sic] was one of those cold raining day’s [sic] when you[‘d] rather stay in bed an[d] sleep than to go out but of course it wouldn’t be the army if we stayed in bed so we went out, but we came back early around five this after noon [sic]. Well anyway I just woke up. I was lying down on my bunk and happened to go to sleep and had the most beautiful dream about you. It seems that it was

summer and we were out in California someplace and it was at a big dance and the band was playing Star Dust. oh darling I love you so much that I can’t wait to[o] much longer for a furlough to see you. It seem[s] so long but it hasn’t been over three month[s] since I’ve been home. Gee darling there’s nothing to write about down here except I love you. I love you. I love you and darling I really mean it to [sic]. I wish I could be with you or have you with me. I love you so much darling. I got to close now darling so until to morrow [sic]. I remain your loving husband (to be)

Howard
