Dearest Wife,
Well darling this is my second day of work and it [sic] really fun. Don’t get me wrong tho darling it [sic] really hard work. There [sic] only one catch to this job I get tired at night but I got a beautiful sun burn to day [sic]. I’ll learn not to take my shirt off when I work. How are you my darling? I’ve been wanting to hear more about junior but
[Page 2]
you don’t tell me so I just don’t know. I love you so darn much darling that I’ll go crazy if I don’t go home pretty soon. That [sic] the reason why I went and got a job to make time go faster. They say we’ll be out in december so I’m still waiting. I hope the army [sic] right for once and send me home. I had a wonderful dream about you last night and what you did. I guess it was both of us though. We are staying at a hotel in town for men
[Page 3]
only and it [sic] very dark and gloomy. I got a small room about big enough for a bed and that’s about all. What’s the clipping of the home for. You send [sic] a clipping and don't say anything about it so you got me worried. Gee darling I love you but I’m so tired. I’ll have to go to bed now if I want to work tomorrow and I’m going to work all the chance I get because the days practally [sic] fly by. In case you want to know
[Page 4]
what we’re building it [illegible deletion] some detention barracks for bad little boys in the army in other words jail. I love you very much mommy and I want to be near you. I love you with all my heart and darling I’m so musky lately that if I ever see you, look out. I love you. As Ever.
Howard

P.S. I love you and I’m so glad you said yes when I asked you to marry me. I love you.
