Darling Yve
How is everything at home it shure [sic] is hot down here. When are you coming down to see me honey[?] I shure [sic] miss your pretty little smile and your little [illegible deletion] hands. I shure [sic] wish I could hold one hold one of them. It's so lonesome down here I don't know what to do. One thing I know right now that I won't have a leave for quite a while because the Co. Comander [sic] said it was of no use to ask for one he said that he would let us know when we could have one. Darling I love you very much and I miss you all so much I could even go A.W.O.L. but I won’t. Our company is on the alert this week end [sic] and it means that we cant [sic] even leave the barracks at night we cant [sic] even take our clothes off we have to

sleep with our shoes and tommy gun by our sides. I won't be home in August at all although I would like to. They shipped my buddy out to California. You know the one that in the picture. I can't write much because I don't know what to say but I wish that we were married and had a nice little house of our own and I was’nt [sic]in the army then everything would be perfect don't you think so[?] I got the pop corn [sic] and it was very good and thanks a lot. I [illegible deletion] opened it and put it on my bunk and I had about 10 fellows beging [sic] to put their hands in to get some pop corn [sic] at the same time. Well darling I write again to morrow [sic] I havent [sic] any more paper and this is borrow paper in the first place. I didn’t forget your birthday any way [sic] even if they won’t let me see you. I love you. Love

Howard
