North Hall was built in 1893 by Daniel C. Darrow, M.D. as the Darrow Hospital and had the distinction of being Clay County’s first hospital with an operating room. Concordia purchased the hospital in 1919 for use as a women’s dormitory. In 1938, the building became the Music Hall and housed the music department for 25 years. In 1963, the music department moved to Hvidsten Hall and North Hall was turned over to the theatre department until its demolition in 1975.
